None of us get paid. Whoever reviews and approves a BST essentailly gets a free review copy but that is about it.

It depends. Most of us don't do any SEO at all so it is kind of a pain in the ass actually, we have to take the time out to put together a campaign to determine whether or not your service works. The value added we get from Joe Herpaderp's SEO service is negligible compared to the time we could have spent working on other things.
