If we increase posts there would be more spam floating around lol, but it could be a great idea.

I think it would be beneficial in some ways but as mentioned above once they get an error saying the post is too short they will simply make a longer useless post. Not sure if there really is a fix to this issue. I think BHW as a whole does a great job though. It is difficult to read page after page of info though when most the post are a "thankyou note".

Every Forum I have been a part of has this problem. I think the only way to really prevent it would be to have a paid forum... Only people who pay can use... that would fix it right.

Making BHW a paid forum? I would say that is very unfair. We got the privelage for free so why charge someone?

It's a good suggestion. But....

I should point out that every single forum ever made is useless without a good team of moderators. This forum has the best moderation team I've ever seen. No matter what restrictions you set for new comers to weed out whatever problem, it will never be as affective as the human touch of a mod.

Because of that, I don't think it will make a difference one way or another. You'll just have people making the same posts but with 30 characters instead of 5. "Hey nice post thanks for the help" is better than "thanks"?
