Require advice on Web 2.0 Network

Hey, I'm new to SEO and would like to set up a tiered web 2.0 network. I would like your inputs on the network structure that I'm planning to build and would appreciate any advice.

I'm planning to create about 15 open source platform sites in a 3 tier network with the first tier having 2 sites linking to the money site. The 2nd tier having 3 sites linking to the one site in the first tier and 2 to the other. The third tier having around 9 sites linking to the tier 2 sites.

I would like your inputs regarding:
1. Should I build these sites on different open source platforms for them to look natural?
2. Should I spin my main article on the money site and use them in my network? (I'll be editing them abit so they look natural)
3. Do I have to link sites in the respective tiers to each other and other websites to make it look more natural and include links to other website out of my network?
4. How often should I link tier 1 sites to my main site ( 1 per article etc.)?

You should build the sites on different platforms, but be aware that most of the web is built on just one or two (WordPress being the largest). You can use WP much more than most people would think.

I wouldn't spin articles on your money site. Doing so will probably be fine for Google, but not for human visitors. User interaction metrics are a ranking factor, particularly if you want to rank in the top 10 results.

Linking out to other websites is a good idea - it confirms to Google what your page is about.

Link to your website once per tier 1 site.

The downside with a web 2.0 network is finding the power in the first place. You can build a great network, but unless you have powerful links pointing into it from other sites, the network is not going to move the rankings particularly. Creating content for all those sites on a regular basis also becomes tedious and costly.

Hey! Thanks for the advice. I'm currently still in college so I dont really have the budget to pay for a PBN or create my own. I'm planning to write quality researched content on my money site myself but I'm wondering if it's fine to spin those articles on my sites on the other tiers maybe use a portion of the main article spin it and repost it.

I've also been doing some research and found this on quora there is a segment where it states that each post should have "3 links to your 3 website urls using the first of your 5 keywords for each url as anchors". So I have a 2 spare domains lying about and don't have time to work on them and was wondering whether I should use them for my tier 1 sites instead of open source platforms?

Thanks for the advice! I think Ill have to learn through trial and error and see what works best.

I will join this discussion as I have raised something similar in White Hat forum but no response.

Not sure if this is the same direction, but my approach is to create a portal for a specific industry, and have contributors from various companies submit their articles and press releases.

Apart from adsense and affiliates, my monetization would be through offline sales of adspace.

Is this considered a Web 2.0 website? Apologies if I am not making sense on this thread.

So a web2.0 is an account on those platforms that are filled with articles to link? Not the platform itself?

Bear in mind that Google doesn't want you to manipulate its search engine. One way it can do that is to reduce the effectiveness of low cost strategies (whether costs are measured time or money). Except for very low competition keywords (which tend to be low volume and/or low return), a web 2.0 network alone isn't likely to propel you up the rankings. Look at the search volume of your keywords and estimate your return if you 5% of the searchers came to your site. Then calculate the cost of your time in researching and writing, even if you spin the content on higher tiers. Nowadays the cost of entry to rank by SEO is high. Google wants you to pay for Ads instead.

The problem with following someone else's recipe for ranking is that Google changes the rules all the time. What worked 2 years ago probably doesn't now. The other problem is that there is no proof that someone's recipe works - there is no proof of working required to post on Quora.

You shouldn't be looking to find out what to do, but rather why. Why did the poster recommend 3 links and not 5 or 1?

Learning SEO takes time. Its unfortunately not just a case of writing good content (although Google actively spreads that myth).
