Hello.. I need some advice badly please. Ive run a campaign today promoting a video player and here are my stats:

Requests: 1630, Conversions: 105 Conversion Rate: 6.4 %

I just cant fathom out of 1630 requests, only 105 actually converted!? Im assuming these are the actual people that followed through with the install, but out of THAT many "requests" how can it be possible for so many of them to not follow through? My first instinct was "foul play" on the side of the advertiser, but then again I am very new to this so Im just trying to get some "norms" if you can help me so that I have a frame of reference to gauge my stats with.
Another point here is that I do wonder if advertiser is bundling other softwares and promoting others during the initial install, which would mean the visitor may be clicking away in order to install something else within the bundle? Hence I lose out on the original install (commission?)?
Im BRAND new to this, so bare with me please as its all brand new territory for me.

Also what is a typical payout for a video player install, as I am getting around 1.60 per install.

What is "request" supposed to mean? Downloads? Unique visits to the link?

Payout depends on location of the guy who installs the software, not what the software is. For 1.6 you are most likely getting US installs which is about the maximum you could possible get.

Im going to assume "requests" means downloads because I had atleast 40k visitors to this one.

And Yes, location is US. Why does it matter btw? Canada for example gets not even half that. Just curious. But my main concern was that mega HUGE discrepency between "requests" and conversions.

Thanks!

bump... is there an "average" for conversion-rate percentage I should look out for?

I have ~40-45% CR from people who start the installs and complete them. I have no idea how many downloads I have.

40-50% is a hell of alot more than my 5-6%. Now Im really wondering what is going on with my conversion rate being so low.
