I’m looking for some expert advice on how to upload PDF files to websites—especially on platforms like Drupal, WordPress (Gravity Forms, Ninja Forms), or credible domains like .edu, .gov, and .org. My main goals are:
- Upload PDFs securely and correctly
- Get a publicly accessible direct URL link for each uploaded PDF
- Track or retrieve the exact URL after uploading, especially when the upload happens via online forms
What I’ve Tried So Far:
- Uploading PDFs on some Drupal and educational sites (like Oregon State University and CUCEI), but I often only get a confirmation page with session tokens instead of a direct file URL
- Guessing typical file paths (e.g., /sites/default/files/, /uploads/) but no success
- Checking confirmation emails and pages for direct links, but sometimes none are provided
- Using browser Developer Tools network tab to find upload paths, but results are inconsistent
My Questions:
- Which CMS platforms or form plugins commonly allow PDF uploads with publicly accessible URLs?
- How can I reliably track or get the direct URL after uploading PDFs through forms?
- Are there any tools, browser techniques, or tricks that help reveal the uploaded file’s URL?
- If sites don’t show URLs, what’s the best way to request or find the uploaded file’s link?
- Can anyone recommend high DA/PA platforms or public websites (especially .edu, .gov, .org) that allow PDF uploads with direct public links?
- Please share any lists of websites or platforms where PDF uploads with accessible URLs are possible.
Additional Info:
- Interested primarily in .edu, .gov, and .org domains for authority and credibility
- Curious about differences between Drupal, WordPress, and other CMS systems regarding file uploads
- Open to advice on naming conventions or best practices to make PDFs easily trackable
- Willing to pay for professional help or services related to uploading PDFs and tracking URLs if anyone offers such assistance
