[REQ] How to host multiple domains on shared hosting that doesn't allow it

Hi fellas,

Is there a way to host multiple websites on a shared hosting which doesn't allow multiple domains?

I have got to host a few very small static websites I don't actually need much diskspace or other features.
I have one hosting plan with 25gb diskspace almost 98% is available but my addon domain slot is full.

So, I was thinking is there anyway this can be done on the same host?

Looking for your suggestions and tricks maybe ha ha :D:p

Realistically your hosting provider is going to make sure you are unable to work around it as they want you to pay more to be able to have multiple domains. It may be worth thinking about looking at an alternative hosting provider when you get your next chance. I personally use SiteGround and I'm not actually sure how many websites I have hosted on the one plan off the top.

Sorry, I appreciate that it doesn't help you with your current situation but I think you're a little stuck on that one.

Yes they can be wordpress based sites. Basically 5-6 pages of content.

Basically this is possible if the domain provider allows domain masking or URL masking...
But this is not an act you should do because it could hurt your seo :suspicious:
You may want to switch hosting provider.
 
You can always contact them see if they will raise your limit for being a loyal Client
 
the only way i could think of to do that will requer you to have another server where you can edit apache or nginx config

the problem with this idea i think it will cost you more than going one level up in your account with your provider to add new subdomains

now let me explain how you can do it
1- arrange all your website contests as folder lile example/site1 , example/site2 and so on
2- you need a vps or server where you can install apache or nginx
3- point all your domains to this vps or server
4- for each domain create new vhost with proxy pass that point back to your hosting account
like this
proxypass / example/site1

I know this is overkill but this is mostly the only way to do it

I figured out a way to add additional domains using wordpress.
First you need to setup multisite on your wordpress.
Then install WP Multi Network plugin. This plugin gives your multisite ability to create multiple networks i.e each networks is a mulstisite setup.
So now each network will have a parent domain, this should solve your problem.

Please keep in mind this doesn't necessarily mean you can use it on any shared hosting with as many domains you wan't because the bigger you create the networks the more hosting resources will be used.

As you said you are on shared hosting and your hosting provider does not allow you to host multiple sites, so there is no workaround. unless you look for an alternative hosting which allow you to host multiple sites in same shared hosting account

I'm really curious if or how it can be done.
 
Quick one, but why don’t you move to a host that allow more than 1 domain? Maybe I’m missing something obvious
 
If this is on a shared cpanel hosting I don't think that's possible. The domain name masking might work but maybe for a static websites, but that's just a maybe.
 
You can always change your hosting provider and it will be a lot easier.
 
This is not possible beacuse if you do not add your domain in the list than server will not able to handle requests and will give error only even if you point it to hosting. so try find other hosting provider or upgrade your plan.
