I have a new site (3 weeks old) wrote about 10 articles and after 2 weeks was ranking on page 3-5 google.. Then bam!! week 3 they get zapped to page 9-11..
I did not build links from bad sites. Teir 1 maybe 100 lnks web2.o, few videos, social bookmarks etc.. Then blasted those links with forum, blog and wiki etc...
Is this normal? keywords are easy to med difficulty.. Is this a sign of sandbox or just google ranking a little too high to begin with? backlinks that I built are not even showing in various backlink checker sites.

could be two things based on my experience.

1. new sites sometimes have a temporary boost, like a honeymoon period in which google is still trying to decide where to place the site. you made some links and it could be just dancing from that.

2. less likely but it looks like you've spammed your tier 1 links and google could devalue those tier 1 links because of that.
 
For my site , i created many posts ( more than 10k ) on +2000 aged web 2. blogs ( +1 year old ) and used more than +200 anchor text and my site url's as keyword .

Fortunately, with Panda 4.2 update my site is ok and i see ranking improvment for all my keywords . i hope my site be ok for ever :D .

So i think web 2.0 links are not problem , maybe your site is new and this is just a google dance , and you need time to see ranking improvment .

Or @ the end maybe and maybe it can be for your tier 2 , google should find them natural :) .
 
Thanks.. Ill update in a few days.. Cant imagine I am the only one that has experienced this. What would be your advice on teir one.. I really only blasted them with blog comments and forum links.. but was probably only 20-30 per link.. meaning I had 100 teir 1 then blasted around 3000
 
I think you picked a niche which is probably not evergreen, and/or is heavily dominated by SAPE links or baby PBNs, or even GSA bulk spamming.

If you are in anything hacky, movie-ish, television, game mods, etc.... these aren't niches in the eyes of google, and nothing ranks there for long due to constant spamming. If this does not apply to you, then chances are pretty good you did spam your site directly with web 2.0s, and maybe experiencing a penalty or it could be Google dance.

Going from where you were to where you are though ... I don't think you'll be coming back any time soon.
 
Thanks davers for the input.. No I am not in those niche.. I did make web2.o with direct links to site. Thought that was ok? am I missing something. web 2.0 like word press, blogger etc. forum links from good sites. Hope that it does not take too long.. would hate that.
 
How you maked your web 2.0 ? in how many days you created your tier 2 ? make some linkbuilding again on it and see results :)

TEST IT TO KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN !!!

yes the teir twos i hit with blog comments.. still running. Thanks for the input sainagroup. amazing you have 2000 web2.0 ( my efforts are somewhat smaller) I am going to continue to hammer the teir 2 and see what happens. I hope this is only short lived
 
Just a little update: Speed matters to google big time. I went back scanned my site and found it was slow. (Wordpress) Installed W3 plugin, smush plugin and put everything on cloudflare.. Huge improvement in speed. (went from a D rating to A) after 3-4 days, and google moved it back to pages 4-7. Now I just need to get links going and should move up steady to page 1.. After that scare I will take it a little easy since it is a new site.

You're kidding right? All you did was spam.

The sandbox is a myth.
 
I can only tell you what happened. When site was slow, I lost 20 -30 places a day on google for 4 days in a row. I went from place 32 to like 150.. Then I thought it was because of spamming but saw that my site was extremely slow. "D rating with GT Metrix" I installed the above mentioned plugins and after getting it to an A rating, It started jumping back up 20 -30 a day.. Now back to around 40-60.. I continued with the link building just as before.. so I think it was penalty for slow site.. Like I mentioned in OP the site is new s maybe it was something else but the speed is the only thing I can link to the reason.

SO my advice is if you see some drop.. Check site speed, it appears google lays a large importance on that.
