What is the benefits of having reputation points and how to check someone's reputation points?

Then why people keep asking others to give them "reputation"? So it is a useless attribute, just like credits?

I must be blind because I don't see people asking.... where do you see that? It's just like a token system to say thanks, but we have a thanks button.

Maybe the people asking are usually in the download forum, and you do not visit it frequently. They may request others to "rep" them for posting downloads.

Okay thanks for that. I don't think they let it get pass too much though if it does happen.

Not really a concern, just curious.

I think it's just part of the culture that's translated to this forum from other forums. It could be considered a sign of forum loyalty and contribution. It's just another way to differentiate one user from the next.

Check the date on the posts requesting Rep. We did away with it a couple of months ago, because people were abusing the system. Anyone who still asks for rep is as outdated as someone wearing a Mullet...

If it is big enough.

It is good to use rep as an ego stroke to people, make them feel good about what they have posted, but, otherwise, EC is right.
