It might be a good choice, but you may lose 20% or more in sales (50%+ for the game industry) if you don’t have the card payment and local payment methods like e-wallet, online banking, prepaid card, etc. The best payment solution would be to use both credit cards and local payment methods without chargeback risk. Maybe you need to find a payment service provider like Worldpay, Payssion to help you collect payments worldwide.

PayPal now offers backup if you get disputes from selling digital goods.

I got several unauthorized payment disputes but I learned to easily recognize them. I don´t really care about payments less than $50.
If I got an order over lets say $100 from a new customer. i'll check for the following aspects:
  • Is the PayPal account verified
  • Has the payment be done on a mobile device
  • Does the user's real name in combination with the email address look shady
Carders often don't bother about writing their names with capital letters.

Also, You should accept it that 1-2% from all the payments you receive are unauthorized

Sure but why does Paypal blame the seller?

The reason sellers pay a HIGH ASS FEE is for Paypal to take care of fraud themselves.

IMO Paypal should pay for all misuse. That's why their fee is so high. Instead they blame the sellers 90% of the time.

Digital goods varies from giftcards, in-game currency to a makeshift service which are legal to sell but in many cases impossible to track down. It's obviously easier for PayPal to provide a post address to the creditcard company to start an investigation to catch the criminals. There's really a huge difference between digital goods and a postal package
