Why take a risk? Try to create a unique content so that you won't be penalized from google.

I agree that you should create unique content rather than copy pasting the same content in all your articles as this might be a factor that your site will be penalized by google. Better choose the safe way rather than risking it!

If the post is 5-700 words of a unique article and a piece of that with 100 words of installation instructions, then I do not see any problem with it and I don´t see that Google will mind either since there are thousands of these kinds of product/service pages out there with small bits of same instructions on them.

If it is common you can place a link instead of repeating those sentence / instructions out there. Since duplicate content contradicts with crawlers as well.

Create a page just for the instructions and link all pages to it.

Google does frown upon duplicate content they state it many many times. To Be safe what I would do would be open up the good ole photoshop create a image with the instructions in it, make sure its a good dpi to scale on large monitors and be visible on mobile (the mobile may be a bit challenging users may have to zoom in to see it).
To piggyback off this comment, I have worked with numerous e-commerce sites that have multiple products requiring the same disclaimer, delivery information, etc. It would not be acceptable to use a link in these instances. The large majority of these product pages rank in the top three positions for their product names. Based upon this, I'd assume this is OK in the eyes of Google. However, Google can recognize product pages, so it could make a differentiation based upon the type of page. I doubt that would be the case, however.
My assumption has always been that these lines of text, that would be seen as duplicate across numerous pages, is simply ignored by Google. This is, again, just an assumption.

It is a best solution I think so...
Repetitive content in the same website is useless. Try to make all the content as unique and more engaging to the readers and insert the link to your “installation instruction” page with natural flow of that article.
Why not make a note on a separate page about installation steps and just send people there?
