Hey all-
Wanted to see what everyone thought here. I've been doing RM for a few months now and from my limited experience, the customers I meet with want to go one of two directions:
1. Deal with Yelp/Google reviews (post new positive ones, respond, etc.)
2. Don't deal with reviews (a.k.a. push off first page)
Or some combo of both...but usually one way or the other. To me, the harder part is selling people on the value of just dealing with the reviews. If you're charging $500+/mo for reviews it can be perceived as less valuable and frankly, you're basically a review jockey, hustling with Yelp and Google and whatever other review sites. To me, the easier way is to control the first page by pushing the negatives. But I wanted to hear about your experiences with this situation. Clients seem to place much more value on removing/displacing the negatives from the first page rather than get a couple good reviews and this is mainly because if you're dealing with Yelp, they are highly unpredictable and suspect.
What's been your experience with #1 vs. #2?
Or perhaps you just sell them on a solution and don't really get into the details of what exactly you will do?
Any insight is appreciated. I suppose part of the problem is that if you get leads from the review sites such as Yelp and Google, people will be focused on those properties as that is your conversation starter.
