Renewal Costs Chafing My *ss!

Anyone know of a way to get around the $7.00+ for renewal costs each year.

I was thinking of transfering around each year depending on who had the special. Not sure if this is a good idea or not.

Anyone have any tricks?

$8.49 .ORG registrations and renewals

Surely the time taken wouldn't be worth the few dollars you'd save on each domain would it? Why not just dump / flip the under performing sites? If a site won't make you $10 per year and it has no potential why keep it?

Yeah ... that's life! As roberteb posted, you're going to need to decide which ones to keep and the ones to let drop.

Prices will most likely keep inching back up. With ICANN mucking with things these days, that'll happen sooner than later.

Even GoDaddy is tightening up on all the GD codes/coupons floating around on the Net lately. Tougher to find those that work for renewals anymore. Namecheap doesn't have many discount offers very often.

I check fatwallet at link below periodically to see what they have for recent godaddy codes.


And keep checking G for "godaddy codes" and see what you come up with.

Please bear in mind that the coupons are one of the few good things that Godaddy has, apart from an escrow service for flipping/pushing domains. GoDaddy's drawbacks are fairly significant.

So if you have loads of domains, better build autoblogs on them to make back the registry costs let them age. Or if all else fails, and they do get some traffic - park them.

You can't really not pay renewal costs. You can delay it by a week or two, but if you want to keep your domains, go for it. Try name.com they sometimes offer pretty good renewal discounts.
