I'm trying to think out loud about the pros and cons of removing the phone number from a FB account after creating it and phone verifying it, and my question follows. REMOVING IT: 1) You can use the same sim card (i.e. same number) to verify another account. 2) If you loose that number (the sim card, or the service you used for it), you can just use a different number in case you need to re-verify the account. NOT REMOVING IT: 3) Some of my accounts were phone verified and I left the number in the account. I have the sim card. This works best for me, since whenever I spam groups too much (or do other stuff), FB just let me solve a simple captcha, and then send me a text message to that number. So I don't need to go through the almost-impossible process of identifying my friends' photos. 4) On my other accounts, where I don't have the phone number in the account, FB doesn't give me an option of "do you want to add a phone number" in case I get busted for spamming, but only let me choose between identifying friends' photos and uploading my photo id. So my question is regarding #4: Why do some experienced people here on BHW say that it's better to remove the phone number after creating the account, if FB doesn't give me a chance to add it back when I get into trouble. What am I missing here?
