hi all,

i added some articles to a domain(1) which i don't care about anymore because i want to focus on my main website.
the articles on domain(1) have been indexed but i want to remove them, re write them a little for my main website.
is this too risky for SEO?
is it easier just to forget about the articles and start a fresh?

No, it's content you own. Wait for it to be de-indexed, and publish it somewhere else.

o.k., so just remove my articles, delete the domain and wait a month or so?

you could manually send crawlers to see that content is no longer there I think to make it faster. I'm not 100% sure on how long it takes though for google to forget it. Someone will have to chime in on that.

You can delete your content and put a 410 error, over time, the crawler will re-index the page and remove it from the search. You can leave the main content on the main page.

As you are rewriting articles, why don't you redirect (301) domain 1 to main domain?

Go-to search console, in the menu click removals, create a new request and add the url where the article is located
I don't know how long it would take but it won't be long

If you getting a high number of traffic at domain (1) then it is better to 301 redirect to main domain.
Otherwise, you can republish at main domain after completely remove at domain (1). (article should not index at domain1)
