I've had a website that uses AMP pages for about 2 years. Currently website speed without AMP is much faster and approved in web core vitals, while AMP pages are not approved in web core vitals.

If I disable AMP pages, ideally I should create a 301 redirect to the AMP pages?

Or do I just disable it and wait for Google to do the work?

For AMP pages, if your main site is now faster, it's a good move to disable AMP. Definitely set up 301 redirects from the AMP URLs to the corresponding non-AMP pages. This helps preserve link equity and provides a better user experience by redirecting to the appropriate content.
