Sure it encourages posting, but it’s usually low quality

No, i don’t know why everyone assumes I did. I made an account and remembered i had it 4 years later. Not hard to believe when you still use the email linked to the account actively.
 
So you'd rather have people creating 100s of accounts each day so they could spam PMs?

Just a bit odd suggestion. You made a big announcement on another thread after forgetting you had an account for years, then suggest this, very strange
 
This has been discussed a dozen and one times - the rule is in place and will remain there.
