Remove rights to upload attachments for new users

Just saw a post such as this one



I think it would be a good idea to put like a 50 post requirement to add attachments or links, so people cannot spread viruses easily on BHW.
It's still on the frontpage after 32 minutes, so I'm sure a good few actually downloaded the file. (of course they are really dumb, but that's not the point)

Another point.. VirusTotal links also don't really mean shit, as https://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/us/security/definition/crypter for just a couple of dollars, making it FUD.

47 minutes later, it's still up. Maybe we need more active mods in different timezones?

That one comes up a lot. Replace the affiliate link with your own then spam the document on forums.

They usually get deleted.

Or maybe limit file extensions that can be uploaded? I'm guessing a lot of new folks post threads to ask for help, and screenshots really help in such cases.

We're around, that's been dealt with. Simply hit the report button and the team have it covered.

Thanks for your suggestion. Think back to when you were a newbie. Just because a user is new doesn't mean we should restrict access to all the functionality of the forum. We're always working to make sure that the balance between useability and engagement remains strong whilst maintaining an engaging environment to discuss all things digital.
