Remove Keywords from Navigation?

Do you guys think I should remove the keywords from my navigation? Is it really necessary considering my keyword density is between 2-3%? I've been reading a lot of threads about people changing their navigation titles and rankings going up -- so I'm just wondering if that has something special to do with rankings?

Like the above poster said, focus on decent quality diverse backlinking as opposed to little onsite tweaks like that. Id imagine the change, if any, would be minimal at best

2-3% is very low just work on your backlinks as seo-devil said!
