A lot of people assume removal is always the first option, but that’s not always the case. Removal depends heavily on platform rules and the type of content involved. Suppression, on the other hand, focuses more on strengthening positive assets so they naturally outrank negative ones.

Suppression is usually better than removal, boost positive content to push down negative stuff instead of fighting every piece.
 
But in most cases negativ assets are higher valued by the platform - think Google. It always depends. I often see very clear review profiles which are „too good to be true“. You cannot please everyone…

Funny how it's changed to now you don't want something that is...too good.
 
First try for removal. If it does not work, then go for suppresion. In some cases, a mere legal notice sent by a lawyer (by spending a few dollars only), results in removals.
 
If you can remove, then it is the quickest option, suppression takes times.

That’s a solid point. A lot of people jump straight to removal without considering if it’s even realistic based on the platform. In many cases, building up stronger positive content can be a more sustainable approach long-term, especially when removal isn’t guaranteed.
