Remember Limewire? How were y'all monetizing from it?

Hey,
I was just being bored on 9gag and I saw this.

The only thing I can remember from limewire is that my mom hated me because I only downloaded viruses on the PC :p
I was 8 then so yeah what would you expect. I can remeber when I searched for 50 cent. I got some song with the name of the song I wanted but the sound file was so small. It only said go to www, bla bla idk anymore. I didn't spoke english then so I just deleted it and downloaded another virus :eek:p:

But what was on those sites? How did you monetize in these days? And was it easier to earn?

Lets have some fun and share the methods you were using back then when Limewire was hot :D

the only thing limewire was ever good for was exposing private info to strangers. that's why they dropped it. there are even forums dedicated to all the files boosted from open folders.
 
Lime wire was awesome, I'm surprised no one from outside the USA restarted it

I remember that program. No matter what you searched for on Limewire, it always displayed "(insert your search query) SEXY GIRL HAS SHAKING ORGASM ON LIVE WEBCAM" at the top of the results.
 
Most of the time it was monetized through spyware. Content locking a file wasn't common back then and although there was a few PPI opportunities no one would dare download a .exe

Let's face it most of the downloads were .mp3 .avi and .png - porn and music.

I once got a virus of nothing that just repeated a small file 100,000 times to fill up hdd
