Remarketing on Competitors Website

Hi all,

Lets say I have an eCommerce website selling shoes. I also have adsense banner in my site. Same thing for my competitor.
Question is: Can I re-targeting my visitors and then show ads in my competitor's adsense banners ?

So story goes like this. Someone search for shoes in Google, my site come 1rst and get the visitor, I take the cookie, after while, user goes out and click the second result (my competor), when the visitor browsing his site the visitor sees remarketing ads for my site.

Is this possible ?

You cannot control WHEN your remarketing ads will show, only that they have a chance to show. They could also show on any site on the Google ad network your visitor goes to later and for the period your visitor is on your list.

If you want to remarket only to those visiting certain sites, you can do so. It limits you and sort of defeats the whole idea of remarketing.

The remarketing campaign of course works only when someone has come to your site. If there are other shoe stores that also display Google ads (selling and advertising is a stupid idea if you ask me), then you should target them directly with a display ad instead of relying only on a remarketing campaign.

Points made by lucidmarketing are correct, however if you wish to separately target your competitors for re-marketing, you can totally go for it!

Remember to have your "normal" re-marketing in one adgroup and then just create another adgroup specifying the placements and choose the "target & bid" setting.
