I typically buy everything through Namecheap or godaddy. However I have heard some horror stories from godaddy customers and I dont want all my domains under namecheap. What other registrars are reliable and if possible offer low price .com regs?

What types of story you here from customer? Is those stories have the real? I did not here such type news before.
 
Godaddy is great if you're not doing anything that could be considered illegal by some. If it could possibly be considered illegal by some, best to go with an offshore registrar who just doesn't care.

Remember, I didn't say "is illegal", I said "could be considered illegal"... it comes down to what they feel like, at the end of the day.
 
I always use GoDaddy and NameCheap. I suggest you stay with them.

I don't recommend Godaddy, I've had bad experiences with them, but it's your call.
 
I use Godaddy for all of my domains without any problems.And they have provided me good support also.
 
If you don't have anything really illegal, then I'd recommend joker.com, internet.bs, gandi.net
Definitely not US, UK or India based registrars, these tend to be the worst.

There are many more decent registrars, look for EU or Canada-based ones http://www.internic.net/alpha.html
 
Im buying sites for my clients so I have to alter the whois to their information while keeping the billing on my end.

I could see godaddy possibly getting butthurt over that but IDK. Is why I am asking as i've heard stories.
 
Godaddy and nameceap are fine if you renew your domains on time and if you do not engage in questionable stuff.
 
Vote here for eNom. Their depositing policies are a little crazy, but they're a true B2B registrar with excellent service.
