I am having trouble with a reliable proxy server.

I download a proxy list with proxyfinder and but it in proxy switcher and test them but by the time the autoswitcher gets to them some of them are dead.

What should I do? I have heard proxy firewall in a search here, but what does that mean?

For some background I use these proxies for scraping and mailing (well, I try to)

However the mail program doesn't work if the proxy stops working and the scraper freezes up.

There are quite a lot of services available that offer premium proxies and even public ones in bulk to save you the work. Have a look at the proxy marketplace section.

If you're looking for SMTP proxies with port 25 enabled/open you're going to have to really dig, both through the web to find a source, and in your pockets to pay for them. 99% of proxy providers will not have port 25 open under any circumstance, and the one's that do know exactly what they have and charge accordingly usually. Unfortunately there's not a lot of options left for such a service due to massive abuse. Good luck though and hope ya find something.
