Released from a google ban!

So had a wierd one the other day! Bought a domain about 3 years ago and put some crappy script on it. Within about 2 months google banned the site. Anyway, it was a good keyword domain, so I decided to keep it as investment and develop it or sell it later once the niche develops (as it is something that definately will!). But then out of the blue about 2 weeks ago it started to get traffic again and on checking it seems that google is indexing the site again.

Anyone else ever had this happen to them? Does a google ban automatically expire? I have never heard of it before.
