rel="sponsored" backlinks

They are also a nofollow links. So, It doesn't matter.

Can you explain more about this service?

Sponsored links does not pass any link juice to your site but it can help with brand visibility and attract traffic to your site if the sponsored links is from reputed GP sites

They are same as no follow links but it might help you to generate direct traffic and also it helps to reach a specific audience interested in your niche.

What are your thoughts on rel=sponsored backlinks? Does it have the same effect as a regular ******** link? Or is it pretty much like a nofollow link?
My thoughts are that it better be well placed on a page getting a lot of traffic, because the only real benefit you'll get from it is possible clickthroughs.

Using "rel=sponsored" for backlinks tells the link is paid for, which might not have the same SEO boost as regular links, but it's not like a nofollow link either.

I do think it'll be like or close to nofollow. Since Google specifically want you to marked paid links such. This is probably so as to devalue link juice going to the recipient site.

its even worse than having a nofollow backlink.
But again, what matters is the placement. If it's on super high traffic site, then it's all worth it.
Yes these were also my thought. I mean some bigger news papers offers such link. I think it not bad to have but it depends also on your website. I mean what’s wrong with buying a paid article in a newspaper. It’s helps for brandbuilding what’s important now.

rel="sponsored" links are not exactly the same as regular followed links they could still have some impact on search visibility

:) Last time I do research on this, a lot claim if you going to insert affiliate link is check non sponsored.
