Registering/Hosting cheap websites - suggestions?

Well I have been looking around and I see I will spend ~$10 for registration than $5-8 a month hosting. Is this going to be the cheapest way to build/host websites? Is there cheaper methods if I want to host several?

Do they need to be on separate hosts? You can find super cheap hosting if you want to host in several places for SEO purposes. But if you are just making websites you can host them on the same host for - like you said $5+ a month. You don't need separate in most cases.

If I get one of the domains penalized will it hurt the ratings of the sites sharing hosting?

You can get a basic VPS for $15/year - if you can set that up you don't need to pay $5-8 for hosting. Gives you your own unique IP and everything.

Support is what all matters,that what i learned.Each and everyday we face issues with host and sites.We need immediate support. whether it is 5$ or 15$ ,we need fast and accurate support.so better choose cheap and supportive one.
