This is a topic that's come up a few times already on this forum but none were very helpful. Has anyone tried this before and is able to offer some insights on the SEO benefits? I know with Blogger you have to wait 6 months to register deleted accounts and apparently Wordpress don't allow it but there are a lot of other Web 2.0 platforms out there. Seems like it would be a good strategy for ranking some low competition keywords.

Try with tumblr..But you need to scrape like 100K-500K list in order to get good list of blogs with PR..But don't no how long that PR will last.

I've only tried this with Tumblr but have great results already, generate a list of 100+ niche relevant keywords and scrape for "site:tumblr.com <keyword>", prune the links back to just the domain and filter for the ones which 404 Not Found.

You can expect to find about 0.1% of your scraped domains are available. Run them through a bulk PR/DA checker, some will have crazy high PR/DA were obviously spammy before and have been suspended by Tumblr. Skip those there will be plenty natural ones with PR2+, good backlinks and authority.

Didn't mean to bump up old thread, but how are you guys registering these web 2.0?
Are you using some tool like autofill magic or something similar?
    Is there any other alternative?
Many account creators like the FCS one (don't get me wrong, I like FCS) don't work too good for this purpose.
Registering them manually can be a pain in the ass.
