Registering a domain name concerns

I want to register a domain name, but I'm unsure about something, so let me ask.

Say you want to sell books and hooks on your website, and you want to register "booksnhooks.com"

But it's not available, although there's no website. It's like parked or whatever. It costs like $5,000+ to buy on Namechap.

The name "booksnhook.com" is available, and it's like a little blog about books related to hooks.

But the name "booknhook.com" is available. You know, like $10 per year.

Now, if I registered that, would I be cool? I guess what I'm worried about is someone coming to me when/if my site gets big and wanting to sue me or whatever because they already had "booksnhooks.com" or "booksnhook.com" way before I had "booknhook.com" (even though on one domain there's no site and on the other it's a blog, while what I want to do is e-commerce).

Note: the domain name I gave is just an example, don't get stuck on hooks or books or cars or babies or chairs or tables or cats or dogs or fans or lamps. It's generic words that I'm thinking about though, nothing trademarked. I'm not registering Amazons.com to make an Amazon clone site

why do you want to have both the keywords in your domain? Can't you go for a brandable short name?

Because, why not? I mean if I can, why not? And it would still be short, the domain name I'm thinking would be just 7 letters, and yet contain 2 words my site is all about in them. It's a winner.. I think

If we omit the letter 'n' there is two keywords in 6 letters. Both are plural tense (with an 's'). At least one product is a two letter word. That's amazing mate.

Yeah but without the "n" it can sound a little weird. The "n" is crucial to making it sound perfect

And it's without the "s" that it would be a 7 letter domain with 2 of my main keywords in it.

In terms of your main concern - could someone come after you - no, the domain is reg'd but no existing business so no foul if you set up. No trademark is good as well, so you can't be accused of passing off. If you are really concerned take some screen grabs of the parked domain to show you checked. Having the domain registered is not the same as carrying on a business with that name. You're all good with your slightly shorter domain IMO. Have you checked other variations? books-hooks.com bookshooksgo.com booksnhooks2go.com. I wouldn't get hooked up (pun intended) on domain length, a few characters aren't going to make much difference. One niche I work in there are domains with 20 characters and 2 hyphens outranking five character domains.
