Register domain with hosting provider or godaddy?

I want to start a new blog to write about the topics interested to me. i've been looking for hosting providers. i see free domain registration with the hosting package.

if i register the domain with the hosting will that be a problem in future in case if i do not like the host and need to move to a different one?

is it better to register the domain with godaddy so i can be in control? or i can transfer the domain from the hosting in future?

I would always separate domain/hosting. Not saying a hosting provider trying to hold you hostage is standard, but running that risk doesn't make sense. Even if they only try to slow walk things to up sell. Always had great experiences with namecheap. They also have 2FA.

Go with Namecheap/Namesilo for domain. Siteground for hosting.

Namesilo, Porkbun and Dynadot are really inexpensive registrars. I would avoid Godaddy, the renewal costs for hosting and registering your domain will go up significantly
