Hello,

I saw a website I use (very famous) has his domain expiring today and it seems they didn't renew it.
Any chance I can "steal" it and buy it now ?
When I try to buy it on the same registar, they say it's taken.

Either they renew it or someone did a backorder and they will go for auction

Thank you,
I saw that it's on Enom.com
And saw a website saying it will be on an auction (if expired) on NameJet, which is not.
Just stumbled upon SnapNames but it doesn't look like it's available

The domain company usually gives the customer a few weeks more after the expiry date to renew the domain.

The expired domain has a specific renewal period before it can be auctioned.

Any chance I can "steal" it and buy it now ?
Code:
Normally, generic TLDs get released approximately in 70-80 days (in rare cases, up to 120 days) after the expiration date if not returned from redemption and if not auctioned off.

thats not how it works, after the domain expires, it goes into auction, where its actual worth is determined.

they will have some more days to register the domain, after that it will go on auction.
