I’m planning to purchase high-traffic guest posts targeting users of Indonesian gambling sites. Is it important for the content to be written in Indonesian, or would English content be sufficient for this type of backlink? Thank you.

if you’re targeting Indonesian users, language matters a lot. content in Indonesian usually performs better because it matches user intent and local search behavior. english content can still pass some link value, but for rankings and conversions in that market, local language + relevant context tends to hit harder.
best approach is a mix, but prioritize Indonesian content on relevant sites, especially if your target keywords and audience are local.

You absolutely need to write the content in indonesian, if you use english for a site targeting Indonesia, it looks super unnatural to google and screams paid link, keep the language consistent with the target site to actually get value from the backlink.

I also agree that the content should be in Indonesian if you want to target the Indonesian audience

If you're specifically targeting Indonesian gambling users, it's strongly recommended to use Indonesian content. It improves relevance, strengthens local SEO signals, and typically leads to better engagement and conversions.

However, not all blogs accept non-English content. In such cases, many users adopt a mixed approach using English content while linking (via anchors) to pages in other languages

Gambling is a low quality or spammy niche, so Google won't rely much on quality of backlinks but overall site authority matters. Regardless of language, you should focus on improving site authority. However, contextual backlinks still matter. If the article is in English & is about gambling, it'll work better than an Indonesian article on a different topic.

Your target audience is Indonesian users, it’s better to use Indonesian language content. It feels more natural, improves relevance, and can rank better locally. English may work, but local language usually performs stronger.

If the target is Indonesian users, I’d go with Indonesian content. English can still pass value, but local language usually looks more natural and relevant for both users and search engines. Best setup is matching the language of the site and the audience you’re trying to reach.

If you’re targeting Indonesian users, using Bahasa Indonesia is definitely the better choice. It improves relevance, user engagement, and trust, and also sends stronger geo-targeting signals to search engines. English might still pass some link equity, but for this niche—especially gambling—local language content usually performs much better.

If you’re targeting only Indonesian users, Indonesian content performs better for relevance and trust. English can still pass authority, but for rankings and conversions, local language + geo-relevant sites give much stronger results.

To my understanding to achieve maximum effectiveness for a Guest Post campaign targeting the Indonesian market in 2026, it is essential to use Indonesian.

Use Indonesian content. It’s more relevant and performs better for local rankings English works, but not as strong.
