Regioanl Directories (For "Local SEO")

Does anyone know of any directories that work well for local seo listings? I'm working with a handful of clients in the US, and have very limited funds to allocate towards directory submissions, but they are in the deliverables - Looking for state or city-based directories, but not having much luck thus far.

What I do is search for my keyword - lets say laptop deals Texas ...

What ever directories or classifieds comes out at the first and second page in g00gle i go for these ... and place my info ...
