Regarding Silo Structure

Hey mate,
I have a question regarding silo.

I am making a silo theme and I did the following:

1. homepage linking to all categories page say a, b, c
2. each category page a, b, c linking to post related to category
3. each post would link to homepage, category page the post belonging to, and another post in same category

Now my question is would category page link to other category pages? Say category page 'a' would link to other category pages b, c; category page 'b' would link to c, a; and category page 'c' would link to a, b

Also each post should link to other categories or should ONLY link to category the post belongs to?

Categories will never link to each other!
Let's say you have Blenders, Juicers, Vacuum Cleaners. They are related, beeing in the same vertical, but they are 3 different things with different functions. A post from the blender category links only to HP and the Blender category, you could try to link to the Juicers page as a comparison or something if the subject is related (they both have on/off switches), the best option is to keep them separated.

Mapping out a site is tricky, so be careful as a mistake now, might cause serious issues later, try reading this, http://www.bruceclay.com/seo/silo.htm I consider this to be the most complete guide on the subject.

I always thought you can link categories between them (a,b,c) but not different subcategories...

If you haven't ranked any websites before, don't spend your time on such minor details. Silo has effect on big sites with a lot of articles and can suck up ur whole time studying it. First, make small website, rank it, make few buck... then worry about small details like Siloing, Internal VS External Backlinks, Page Conversions....etc

If I do internal linking from A,B,C categories to the HP is that ok ?
