Is Making Partnership in Internet Marketing necessary? IM can make you feel alone at times. So is it good to find a partner in IM journey and working together who have similar interest or is it a Big NO.

It's a business partnership, so you need someone you can unconditionally trust. Avoid family members in my experience.

I was lucky to find a business partner from Sri Lanka and we worked together for a year or so. I can honesty say, IM was more fun with him around and I used to feel more motivated.

Now I just aimlessly browse BHW.

I feel like it's a very good idea to make sure that you trust someone fully if you're planning to go into a partnership with them. This may seem like a given, but I always ask "would I trust them with my family?" and if the answer is no, I will also not trust them with my business details. It has to be an unconditional trust for me or I won't allow them in on my personal business. Of course, there are options where this isn't always the case, say when you're doing promotion or something of that sorts. Not quite the same type of intimate details, you know?

First of all, don't ever think about making a JV with someone you don't trust 100%, and don't trust someone before you deal with him with money, the real face of people reveal after you deal with them with money, talk is cheap. The second role: Don't do a partnership with someone because that one of you have the money and the other has the idea, sooner or later one of you will cut the other when having the money to do the same idea alone. A lot of people start to be sweet and honest in the beginning and then they turn to be an asshole when they don't need you anymore.

This is my experience as well. Working with a partner energizes me. Of course, the partner needs to be of the same mindset, and should add as much value as you, ideally.

But I think it's very hard to find a balance to "add equal value". Sometimes you may both feel that you are putting in more work than the other. Who is right?

I've worked with quite a few people (not really with IM, but other online projects), and as mentioned from previous users, money does things to people. I was working with someone for 6 months, trusted him a lot, spoke to him on a daily basis and one day he decides to disappear and take around $3-$4k in total. Just because you can trust them with $500 or $100, or even $2000, doesn't mean you can necessarily trust them with $10,000. Everyone has a price.
But further to that, there are things you can do that can help to ensure you're making the right choice by working with someone.

- Make sure they're mentally stable and don't do stupid / irrational stuff
- Make sure they're mature and willing to speak about any issues (if someone feels they're adding more value than the other for example)
- Keep the money split, don't let it accumulate in 1 person's hands.
- Keep a "split in power". For example, Person A is the owner of the CPA / Affiliate account. While person B holds the domain. Person A can hold the site files / hosting. Person B holds the social media accounts. (This way, both of you need each other, and if you're both reasonable and mature people, there should be effort made to resolve any issues if any pop up and also a common goal to work together).

Good luck to you OP!

Rather than a business partner sounds like you would be better off just becoming friendly with another IMer and bouncing ideas off?

Agree with this. In fact, con-men always pay on time and in general, show that they are trustworthy. Until they disappear one day or their scheme collapses.

I agree, they must have similar minds that think alike for this to work without problems arising.
