    I would like to generate fake traffic to make my website seem more popular to Google.
    My first question is - What are some of the best ways to achieve this ?

    I would also like to try and somehow fake the referrer so it appears like the traffic is coming from sites that actually have links pointing to my website. Is this possible ?

    Appreciate any responses.

    Home Page:
    goodbyereferrer.com allows you to fake the referrer (or blank it)

    I had a look at 'goofbyereferrer' and looks like you need to host the Javascript on the referrer page.
    I am looking for a way to dynamically modify the referrer to whatever I choose (domains I don't own).
    I doubt it's possible but thought I would ask the community.

    Example:
    Site A has a link to site B
    User visits Site C and is redirected (or use a frame somehow) to Site B.
    In analytics the referrer is Site A instead of Site C

    I use "Referrer missile 2.0" - I place up to 3 (different) URLs in it and fakes all the referrers and also chooses a random user agent (Mozilla, IE, Opera, Safari, iphone, Android etc.).
    Used it for 2 weeks, in total 2 times (once a week) and blasted it to approx. 8400 pages. Google shows links (some follow, some no follow) for approx. 187 now in search result
    (Google entry-> link:"www[dot]mydomain[dot]com").
