Referer problem

First of all my apologies if it's posted in the wrong category, but I'm new here and it's my 1st post.

I've worked out a plan, tested it, which is working fine and making money, but I have a little problem.

Let me explain what I've done:

I have a porn-directory and most of the sites listed are CC-Bxxl affiliate websites. It's possible for new sites to register, but of course they have to link to the directory with my logo.

At the "smart" webmasters this trick isn't working, because they save the logo and link it local to my website.

But the other part simply copy and paste the link - so the image is loading from my server.

When this website loads the image is loaded from my server, but in the .htaccess file I do a rewrite to a PHP-script. It reads the referer, and with a header location it puts out the CC-Bxxl link code for that website. Just linke someone clicked on it - the cookie is stored on the visitor's website and done.

It's nice - when they have my logo on the front-page, because each visitor is getting my cookie, so every single sale is credited to me

The way I programmed it, is really working fine and making sales - BUT when I login to the CC-Bxxl aff. area and looking to my sales and requesting the referal URL it says the paga on which my logo is located.

So I have to be careful, because other way the webmaster can see in the ref-urls they are coming from there homepage.

Is there anyway to manipulate the referer in the PHP script so it will not show up the original page where the logo is located?


Any other people experience with this trick? It's working really fine, especially when they located my logo on the frontpage, because every sale will be credited to my aff. account :cool2:

Sounds like you have a pretty sweet method; I just don't understand your question, can you rephase it please?

Let me explain it a little bit more clear.

A website is adding my logo - and just copy and paste the link I provided them. So on the homepage of site xxx.com is located my logo, loading from my server.

But on my site i've a .htaccess file which not always show really the logo, but reads the referer and with a header command I send out the CCBxxL link. So a cookie has been set on te visitor's browser.

When they decide to join, CCBxxL is seeing my cookie and I'm getting credited for the sale.

But inside the CCBxxL aff area when logged in and looking at my sales, the page on which my image is loading is the REFERER for the sale.

So I made a sale on site xxx.com and the webmaster also can see the refering URL of the sale, which is his homepage! - that because his homepage is loading the image - and my redirect is dropping the cookie!
