When uploading a video that includes clips from other videos how should you reference the sources in the description?

Do you just list the channel or list url to original video?

It depends, listing the channel is good, especially if it's fair usage, but if it's not, you can still list it, but it doesn't really get you off the hook

If you’re not using it to make money, just cite the source accurately and you’ll be fine. But if you’re using it for monetization, you can get hit with a copyright strike very quickly.

I prefer adding the full URLs, it feels more transparent and keeps things safe.

You should list the original video URLs in your description. Just naming the channel isn’t enough direct links show proper credit and help avoid copyright issues.

In the link text, indicate the name of the channel; in the link body, indicate the full link to the source of information.
