I saw this as I logged into eBay today. The note read:

Big changes to Feedback start this May

To help increase shopper confidence:

Sellers will no longer be able to leave negative or neutral Feedback about buyer

Buyer will only receive positive Feedback

Important new seller protection will be added

WT Heck is this? Some kind of joke? I still can't believe it.

I guess so. I know we've talked about the eBay affiliate program changes, and BANS bans, and how it's a no no to cookie stuff, but I didn't know all THIS was going on. That's just crazy.

I've not been able to find one explanation that provides a satisfactory reason why this stupid change is being introduced ... Must have been the result of some stupid sample poll or survey that ebay might have taken.

Yeah, there were some other threads here discussing this before I think. Anyways, I dont sell on ebay, so it doesnt affect me.

yragcom1,

Here's the link to a thread I started a while back. There are others I'm sure...if you search.

I don't sell on ebay but my girlfriend does. It is becoming almost impossible as you have to please ebay and it's ever-changing rules and you have to keep sweet with PayPal, (also ebay), or have frozen any money in the account.

We have tried other, less dysfunctional auction sites but sadly they don't have the traffic. The merchants and customers desperately need a sane alternative to ebay, who clearly have an unhealthy monopoly. I'm sure it will happen, just not soon enough.

I need to start putting as my feedback "positive, but have no other choice, so take it for what it is worth [nothing]"
