Hello i have a website with 85% of bounce rate. how can i decrease it?
I'd like to know tip and trick to decrease this value!!! Such as use iframe, javascript trick, redirect . . . not the usual this such as optimize content, title . . .

A bounce occurs when a visitor immediately hits the back button after coming from the SERP, so some people have used an alexa boosters to shoot a bunch of proxy traffic at the URL and spoof the referer to look like its coming from various SERPs.

I'm just afraid Google might know it's a spoofed referer. If you right click and copy the address of a SERP link you can see lot's of parameters and data embedded in the link mostly used for tracking by Google. So what would stop them from cross referencing the fake referers with their own data.

But I might just be paranoid. Any opinions?

I think the only way to decrease that is to increase user interaction or just have something long that they view or read.

hmm this is interesting, i also want to know this... is there really a software?

I took my categories list and made a really nice graphic icon for each category. Then I stuck a big graphic menu system at the bottom of each post, enticing people to click through to other categories. It took bounce rate from around 70% to around 59% for me, as well as upped conversion rate from about .4% to .55% or so.

It depends on what your website is about, however if you can offer something for free and make it so they need to navigate a few pages before they get to the free offer your bounce rate should decrease.

Add video clips with catchy titles related to your site.

That's a cool idea, never thought of that + rep

I've also noticed that the higher I rank, the lower the bounce rate. People assume that higher ranking sites are more thrust worthy
When I saw #8 my bounce rate was 76-ish
Got to #4 and just below 50% bounce rate

Weird thing - I did have a video on my site but when I removed it my bounce rate dropped.
Also make sure you placed your google analytic code correctly

To a certain extent, the answer here is always going to be content related. You have to give people some reason to stay on your site because any experienced web user is going to be more than willing to just hit that back button or cancel the page if they don't see anything on the site that entices them. Whether it is an article, a clickable menu or a special offer, you need to give them a reason to stick around.

It has been mentioned that there is some software that can artificially boost the bounce rate, but as that user said there is no certainty that Google won't figure that out and penalise you for it. If you're not going to work to lower the rate, then enjoy having a high bounce rate. Simple, really.

There are so many factors on which the bounce rate of your website depends.

Here are some suggestions as per my knowledge.

1. Use unique and quality content on your website.
2. Make your site more user friendly.
3. Use videos, news section to attract the visitors.

Hope this will help you ...
