So, if I understand correctly, at first you need to redirect all pages and backlinks (do not leave broken links) to homepage and then make some landing page with link to ''new'' website?

You need just to redirect pages that have backlinks, other pages you dont need if they dont have backlinks… just delete them… or id you bought expired domain they are not pointing anywhere at all, you have just domain with no site build and just create a site and for homepage redirect you have example above…

Thanks. Sounds very legit. Will def try this on my projects. Yeh 15+ years in web dev and still learning something new.
But maybe if you have an expired domain you could try to rebuild old website with all it's links redirected to homepage. Wouldnt it be more powerfull? Or I am just overcomplicating the things?
