Redirected Web2.0 - Lost Rankings?

Question, so I had a web 2.0 property ranking in top20 for specific keyword. I decided to move it to its own domain, so I did the redirect, however, looks like the rankings didn't pass. Am I missing something? The redirect from Web2.0 properties doesn't work the same?
 
what kind of redirect did you do ?

basically if you don't have the property on the subdomain of the authority website, you loose the power of the domain. People usually use this properties for parasite seo, and don't do redirects.
 
Just regular 301 redirect. That was my thought, but I figured, may be it'd pass some of the authority.
 
Just guessing it may take some time , my self in same stage [redirected a new 6 month old domain to 7 year old expired domain 4 days ago ] and hoping what i commented...
