To set up a domain redirect you'll need to login to your cPanel account and then look for Redirects under the Domains panel towards the bottom of the page. Click on that and then in the Add Redirect section set Type to 301 Permenant, select your domain from the drop down list, in the Redirects To box type your subdomain address, and click the radio button for "Redirect with or without www". Then just click the Add button and you should be all set.

Log into your GoDaddy account and change the Domain Name Servers to your HostGator Domain Name Servers. The log into your hostgator account and add the domain to your account. Then follow the instructions in the previous post to do the redirect.
