Redirect from old domain having spammy link?

Last year i bought an old domain and redirected to my main site.
Today, i found that now that old domain has so many spammy comment, and profile back links, that too are indexed.
I immediately removed the redirect, but curious that is this gonna affect negative or positive or none because i have just begin working on this main site?

It’s mostly depends on the niche you are working. Like your website on pet related and you take redirect from plumber, such there have no benefits on google. You must following the niche then it’s given you 100% link juicy which makes your site more growth.

BTw why didn't you do due diligence before applying a redirect?

Since now you have removed the redirect you should wait for a month or two to see the change.
