Hey everyone!

I'm currently doing seo and ranking pretty good on some keywords and I would like to change my domain name but could it be bad for seo?
Will get the same rankings as I had on my previus domain name and keep going up on the new one?

You can redirect your previous domain to the new one but your ranking will be effected.

What kind of redirect are you talking about? There can be 4 types according to what my brain tells me now. They all affect differently.

I was thinking to do a 301 redirect and upload the site to a new domain.

If you maintain the same url structure, do 301 to each url properly, and file a domain change request in WMT, then be assured that you will get your rankings back within a few months.

wow a few months is too much, thanks anyway

According to WMT it's 6 months at max, but I have seen the change within a month. Depends I guess...

As g0g0l mentioned above, it might take upto 6 months to see the change but something when the URL structure isn't exactly the same or there's some issue in between the process, you might not even exactly achieve the same rankings as the previous domain.
