Hello, my website is currently ranked number one and I want to do a 301 redirect to a new website. However, when I implemented the redirect, my website's ranking dropped significantly. Where did I go wrong?

Please let me know is the content structure is Same on the New Website??

If the content, structure, or user experience of the new website differs significantly from the old one, it can affect rankings. Search engines might see the new site as less relevant or useful compared to the old site.

First of all, why in the world would you 301 a perfectly working and ranking website? This is where you went wrong to begin with :)

Secondly, in case that you did need to redirect the entire site, you'll need to redirect each URL individually, and only AFTER you have created / re-created the new URLs on the new domain, otherwise you're going to lose the rankings for sure when googlebot crawls the new URLs and "sees" that they don't have content on them... or the same content that used to rank. It's pretty logical

EDIT: if you do need to redirect an entire site you can also do it via .htaccess, but I don't know the code for this, you'll have to look it up yourself (and you still need to create / re-create the new URLs on the new site first, obviously)

The 301 redirect might not have been properly executed, causing loss of SEO value. Ensure redirects are set up correctly and monitor for any technical issues or content mismatches.
