Hey guys, in this months I got some penalties in my website and some keywords went down, my traffic switch from 1.000 users/day to 500 users/day. In this days I tried something, I re-write the posts for the keywords that I lost ranking and redirect the old posts to the new with 301 redirect, and now i'm seeing that my position for this keywords dance like 10->90->40->11 etc. for the new urls, I did something wrong?

301 passes the penalty....so you blew it.

This is not entirely true. I saw a site few weeks ago, it was penalized. From position 1 to N/A and few days after, a new site pop up to top 3. I check it out and lo and behold, it was the penalized site! It is been almost 2 weeks and the site is still ranking No.1.

Good, I hope the redirect will boost my rank.

It depends on the penalty and your specific case. Some ppl say they benefit from 301 redirect, some say it's temporary, and a lot say the penalty will pass along. No other way to know than test and see.

@wblteam I do not know. It was not my site. but I am in the same niche. It was the March 8 or something google update. If you want, I could send you the niche & url.

I am not sure it will be of any benefit to you :)

Take the advice of @don chino and others above. The 301 redirect could be temporary before you lose it all again. It might not even work or it will pass the penalty to your site. It depends on many factors.
