Redesigning website: Tracking conversions/Afilliate platforum

Hello BHW! I have a site selling services. I am doing a major overhaul to my website this week and only need help with two things.

1.) I want to know where each of my sales are coming from, where it be from a forum or a search engine.
So how should I go about tracking my sales? all of my transactions are through PayPal (they were no help with this issue)

2.) I want to setup a affiliate program for my site, I have a very basic HTML site. But I want to be able to have affiliates to help me sell my service.

If anyone could give me any suggestions I would really appreciate it,

You could do one thing.

For example, you are marketing your product at BHW & your site is domain.com where the product is sold directly. You could make a page domain.com/bhwspecial & see how many sales is coming there via BHW. Add traffic tracker to track how many visitors come to your site each day.

For affiliate, there are few good scripts available on internet. Everything is built-in in those scripts. I remember working with a client who had a nice affiliate script.

Thanks for the response, but I plan on incorporating at least 3-5 new traffic sources and not sure if making 5 new pages only showing traffic would actually consolidate the sales.

You can probably track the traffic with analytic other sites like those but you can't track the sales. With that I mean you can not track which site or forum is bringing more sales.

Just my 2 cents.

can help you with that. depending on your plattform we could use g analyti s conversion tracking and make a subsite for affiliate stuff if your used plattform does not have mod / contrib / plugin for that.

1) Google analytics. You need to use the ecommerce function and you can additionally setup a funnel to see where conversions are lost.
2) If you're looking for an affiliate program, I don't know one right off the bat. However you can tell your affiliates to create a custom GA URL which you can track in GA for sales.

Hi Nathan, our affiliate software is able to track your affiliates sales. You can have paypal post back into our software notifying you and them of any new sales. If you have any other questions please let me know.
