I have an amazon aff site with about 13 articles. The main keyword gets about 7000 monthly searches and it is on the second page. it ranked pos.9 before but i'm busy with my job so there is no update for the site in the last 8 months. should i redesign it or build a new one? if redesign, should i start by adding new content or links? if i use a new theme and change the site structure, will the ranking drop?

Thanks for your advice.

Ivan

Actually your rankings can go up if it's modern new theme/design SEO optimized, user friendly and mobile optimized... I don't think your new design can affect your positions, only if you put worse theme than the old one...

Keep the theme and site structure. Just add some more content and start making links to push it higher in SERP.

Interesting question.

From your description, I don't really get an indication that there's anything that you're doing that should warrant a complete redesign.

I have a feeling that you just are looking to reset your project because you're not getting the results that you're expecting.

I completely understand this.

But that's not the solution.

Throwing away all that hard work is not the solution.

Your BEST BET would be to simply build on the 13 articles that are already on your website.

Add more value, target other keywords, and interlink your sites better.

Regardless of what you do, work doubly hard on building a real community of people around your content.

You may be thinking that since you just have an Amazon affiliate website that is this really possible.

Absolutely it's possible.

By focusing on your brand and packing as much value as possible, you can achieve success sooner rather than later.

13 articles is not enough. Try 130 articles or 200 articles.
