I noticed there are a lot of bots in here, how do I know if one is not?

By checking post history and observing patterns you may be able to tell if an account is botted or not.

Very well designed bots are very difficult to detect. But you can usually easily figure them out by looking at their previous posts. They are generally based on spamming a specific content.

They are too difficult to detect. You can only detect them via observation.

It depends on the type of bot and what it is trying to do. A sophisticated bot that isn't promoting links and stuff is near impossible to detect. Reddit administrators can detect it though, by looking at API cues.

run the bot through virustotal as well - pays to be careful

what are you trying to do? Are you trying to figure out who is a bot on reddit? Or are you trying to figure out if a reddit post/comment bot will work on reddit?

I am confused what OP is trying to say here and even double confused that people are replying somehow

does he mean bots on bhw? or on reddit? does he mean something else?
anyway ask the bot if he likes bread or not a bot wouldn't like bread would it problem solved

You will be able to find some patterns associated with their posts. There will be some signs that would distinguish them from normal accounts. Some of them are even also hard to detect.

Checking their activity history is the only way.
