i wonder if it will impact existing accounts too?

another thing if its just an email or phone requirement then why dont they just change it now cause right now you dont need it
so if it was mrely just that they could change that literally instantly no need to wait to implmenet that part

they could require that now. so its odd why they are making it seem like its some big announcement that takes months to do.

they could do that part months ago. or even years ago.

but maybe they will require that too in addition to other stuff but are just waiting?
 
I hope they won't start asking for IDs

is there a service that will do mass phone numbers that are new at reasonable cost? i dont think its even possible to do it on a mass scale of new numbers never used by reddit before for activation that wouldn't cost huge amounts of money per account?

You can use online virtual phone numbers the problem with those they can block those with reverification.To deal with that you need to buy a lots of sim cards which can be problem and the cost of maintaining them.When you buy too many sim cards it trigger suspicion you are running a phone farm.

I need 2000 accnts per year NEW. how practical would there be a wokaround using virtual numbers? lol

OK i dont need to reverify them i would just use the reddit accnt one time if i have to so to speak as long as its not constantly asking every login
but i still would need 2000 virtual numbers never used before per year just to register in that case lol

I just created almost 4000 in the last 6 months all are in good standing

Unlike everyone else i use mass quantity approach i have and need thousands of accnts. dont really care if it would require reverify as long as its not on a 2nd login or every login. ill just dump the accnt and move on once i get what i need out of it from the beginning dont need ot reuse it to the level everyone else here is doing
but thousands of virtual numbers never used by anyone wouldn't work either probably
so i think most of us would be screwed?

LOL keep in mind i was making 30K (and on path to make more) USD per month before the major changes in marhc 2024.
so i had huge incentive to spend a lot of effort and make things systemac

now my income has dropped alot since then but im in a rhythm and know how to do the workarounds so i keep up but its not as fun knowing im only making alot less now lol

it might come in useful if they dont change it on EXISTING accounts already done

by the time this is implemented i would be sitting on many thousands of accounts that were never used for spam and are in good standing lol

I was actualy gonna ramp up the speed of my registration a month ago cause i worried aobut something like this but it seemed like reddit got funny if i tried to get too crazy with how many i registered per day

i stand corrected i looked at my numbers its more like way less that number for on standyby never used for links yet and in good standing still
but i have registerd probably like almost 4000 in 6 months but not all of them survive

thats why with this online stuff you have to ALWAYS strike when the iron is hot. its the same story in all my years of doing this stuff everntually things change or evolve and eventually it becomes unfeasible. Reddit almost became like that last year but you had to do some workarounds just to get a fractionof the pie still. this could be hte final nail

redditors will just bend over as usually
grumble and what not but ultimately take whatever spez throw at them

what is the cost and any you recommend?

it looks like it might beone penny for message?

I looked its only one penny for one time virtual numbers. 10 million numbers available.
so if i can use these it would be pretty easy to still mass regstr.
Reddit already has systems to check for spsicious activty but ive only seen that happen when i hadn't logged in a few years or i was byying accnt from certain providers.

i tried to use a couple free virtual ones that probably been used many times before and the code never showed up but maybe it works for ones that haven't been used before.

Big part of reddit and why it is popular is/was because you are/were anonymous.
Unless there is a massive shift in online social media that pushes ID verifications, I don't think they will do anything radical nor require any ID.
Mostly they will keep optimizing their current anti bot system. As the matter of fact I have seen a big increase in banned accounts since that post was published so they implemented something already.
 
I mean even if they do that what prevents people from selling their accounts after verification?

I have 55 accounts which I post/comment twice daily manually per account - takes me around an hour with the use of ChatGPT for comment variations.

My monthly average spend for proxies and bandwidth use based on the above is somewhere around $120/m again, for 55 accounts.

4000 account spend? Even if you're managing to do it 75% cheaper than me it would still be $2,181.82/month. At the same price it would be $8727.27 per month.

What I'd like to know is;

1. Why would you ever need (or want) 4000 accounts - and the fact you have - why and how are you managing them manually? How many do you actively login to each day?
2. You state you create them all yourself. Meaning brand new; so they'd only be of use for post/comments on small subreddits 25k< at best (anything higher would guarantee comments are filtered/collapsed/hidden - unavoidable). Unless you're also warming them and generating karma?
3. You state you were making $30k/m circa 2024 from 4000 accounts. Thats $7.50 revenue per account per month is it not? Minus costs? I've just done some quick maths and my revenue averaged (again - I'm no expert - and a lowly 55 accounter) in April was $118 per account. So again, I'd ponder whether 4k accounts makes any sense? The costs are astronimical. Happy to be proved wrong - just my written thoughts.

When it comes to multiaccounting; you either successfully make your fingerprint consistent or you don't. There is now lower or upper limit. Also, worried about reddit getting funny? You've stated ITT you've created 4000 accounts in 6 months. If that's true I wouldn't personally be concerned about pushing to... to say... literally any number.

You're either implementing a genuinely unique method (Which is possible) or you have much better contacts than the rest of us!
